a "Dusky Heath" or "Velado de negro" - new to the TN collection of over 47,500 postings of wildlife photography! Your image is simple and straight, well composed, technically perfect and very well describing. Even the metallic line that southwestern species shows near the border on the undersides of wings is very well visible here.
Valuable contribution from the past millenium when everybody was thinking twice before pressing the button to take a picture on a slide film of 36 exposures. It keeps up very well with the results of the digital era.
Thank you! Best regards,
lovely photo of this species.
maybe you will put some image of the other more common species (corinna and gardetta) as here in romania this are not present.
Hi Peter, very good sharp macro photo, I like satyrinides but they are very difficult to clasify, Juan

Excellent picture of this beautiful ringlet! Very good composition and POV! Great work with DOF, the butterfly is very sharp and the BG is nicely defocused. Exposure is also very good! Colors are brilliant and look very natural! The warm brownish colors of the butterfly make a nice contrast with the cool blueish BG. The note is also very informative! A complete post! Congratulations for this work of art! TFS!
