I nearly missed this impressive posting of yours. It just shows there is beauty in everything, even in a weed. One just needs to see it from the right POV or perspective and the loveliness unfolds.

You call it luck, I call it great eye for the hidden beauty. Most people would just walk by it, but you saw the composition. The b/g is very good and the light helped out perfectly. The details and color in the weed are beautiful.

Excellent composition of a common flower, much more that decent. Good colours and details. In Argentina thistles are very common, they were introduced by Spaniard some centuries ago,I´m not sure but I think I never see this species.

INCREDIBLE, I wish it looked half as beautiful as this in real life. I mean this IS the real thing but your isolation here is incredible. The colors are vivid and your framing is very awesome. Your "dumb luck" payed off, this is a wonderful photo of the Thistle. I love the way the ends appear blue. Very detailed, sharp and clear, great lighting, the green background really sets it off, well done.

Wow - you really caught some wonderful detail in this thistle. - looks like it shold be a good source of nectar/pollen though even if it is a noxious weed.

You managed to pull this one off really well with great DOF and OOF BG. composition is v good as well.

Hi Scott, there is something about the lighting and the clarity of this shot that is really striking. That beautiful OOF BG plays a starring role too. It's easily one of the most beautiful invastive weeds I've seen! Stunning :)
