Sorry, no idea on the ID as my books only cover the South African species, but I am hopeful that someone will do so soon.
It looks like a tired old grasshopper or else it is just catching up on some 'close eye' on its hammock of conifer leaves. Although it is a frontal view you managed to retain sharp detail throughout however the oblique angle makes one loose a bit of perspective. The colours are great and the exposure was well controlled. Just a slight pity that parts of its hind legs are hidden in the shade.
Anyway, it is a good effort and TFS.

This is a fine grasshopper capture, seems like you catch him at the right moment as he is coming out of the shadows..!
Pleasant point of view and good details, the sharpness is fine an so are colours!
