3rd post of the Week of The Grebe.

Our GREAT CRESTED GREBE today is shaking after having a full diving.

More info about it from Wikipedia:

(Podiceps cristatus)
It breeds in vegetated areas of freshwater lakes across Europe and Asia. It is resident in the milder west of its range, but migrates from the colder regions. It winters on freshwater lakes and reservoirs or the coast.

It has an elaborate mating display. Like all grebes, it nests on the water's edge, since its legs are set very far back and it cannot walk well. Usually two eggs are laid, and the striped young are sometimes carried on the adult's back.

THE TALE OF THE GREBE CONTINUES TOMORROW...

Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for comments,
Andrea

Wowowow che bella!
Ciao Franco

Hi Andrea,
Great sense of action with the partial motion blur, but other detail is perfcty frozen. (water droplets) Good exposure has given beautiful colors. A very nice series on the Grebe!
Scott

un bellissimo mosso accentuato dalle parti "cristallizzate". bravo

Wonderful action picture, Andrea.
The blurred neck in motion gives the image a very interesting look.
Well done and TFS.

Hi Andrea,
Great!
Great action captured, came as a surprise as I couldn't see from the thumbnail...
DOF spot on, nice freeze of the waterdrops!
Otherwise the colours an details are fine in a well composed image!
Greetings,
Pablo -
