[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This picture was taken near dusk in October. The woods at Pt. Reyes are covered with both mosses and lichens and this is what gives texture to the tree trunks in the photo. The trees did not have leaves for the most part. Nonetheless the light was quite dim. There is a bit of light entering from the top right hand of the photo which gives the one tree's branches and the set of three tree trunks there brighter appearance. The bright tree trunks are dead trees and are lacking bark (and lichen and moss) which also makes them brighter. Since the photo was taken in the woods at dusk with a small aperture, the exposure is quite long (30 secs). There are some moving leaves in the left hand side of the photo. The
