[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is another view from Maligne Lake near Jasper in Alberta. The water had such a beautiful colour and the whole place was saturated in light. The lake is popular with visitors but still has a lovely natural feel to it. On the day I visited I saw eagles, mule deer and a black bear with two cubs. In the back of the picture you can see Victoria Glacier

Hi Karan,
WOW! this is a well balanced composition with saturated colours. You used the available light well and the DOF is perfect. Well done!

Great scene! The photo is in full harmony.Congratulations...

Bonita imagen, tonos perfectos... buen trabajo, saludos.

Stunning shot Karan, those snow-caped mountains make for the perfect backdrop. It would have been great if the lake had been still to mirror that image. I love the tone of this image. Very well done.

Hi Karan
A great shot of a very tranquil scene which almost have that 'I wish I was there' quality to it. I say almost because it looks just a tad too cold for my liking so I'd rather stay where I am in sunny Zululand.
The composition is great giving us a wonderful sense of this fast landscape. If I may suggest however, I think it would have been even more impressive if you showed a bit more of the sky. That would have placed the lake in the bottom 1/3 on the horizontal axis, the mountain range in the middle 1/3 axis, and the sky in the upper 1/3 axis.
One small visible nit is the fact that the water level drops off 4mm to the right hand side of the photo. Next time you do a landscape with water in the frame I am sure you will pay some due attention to that aspect though. The colour saturation is fine and the details are nice and sharp, but with the shutter speed at 1/750 you obviously had some spare light to play with and I am of the opinion that a smaller aperture (in the region of f/8+) would have nailed the focus even more. Lastly, I think you handled the exposure very well since you had some contrasting light to deal with.
Please note that these suggestions/observations are not done because there are any real negative aspects about this photo. The photo is absolutely great, but I am merely looking at these points that could improve this shot even more.
Great work and TFS.

I really like this picture and can only add that I agree wholeheartedly with all of teh above comments. You have handled the light and dark contrast really well and have produced a lovely picture. A little more of the sky woudl also have helped not to have chopped the cloud off as well...

A very eerie looking scene, the unclear horizon makes the whole water look spooky for some reason. Very well taken.

This is a beautiful and arty view.
I like the cobalt like colours and the simetry line, nice effect.

great landscape,
i like it
