I know that techinically the trees are in the way of the shot, but there is something I just relaly like about this shot. I love the way the pine on the right frames the whole right side and the top of the shot. It does crowd out the mountains, but I just can't help but like it. This is from Yosemite National Park in California USA. One of the largest national parks in the USA with some of the most outstanding features everywhere you look.

I agree with you that there is something very appealing in this picture. IMO, I see it as a path starting from the cosy human size foreground up to the impressive and inhospitable mountains, with steps to lead the eyes thru a hidden gorge going down. Great framing. Attracitve contrasted lines combination on the left. The sky luminosity with these blue shades is beautiful as a background to the pine tree. Very good shot, Julie, to dream of until next holidays.

Hi Julie

Nice framing. Good detail and colour. Well done. TFS

I like it Julie! Mix of colours and textures, monumantal rocks, blue sky. I hope someday I'll see Yosemite myself.

A very nice shot Julie, it would have been good to get the waterfall on right side.
Tfs.

We use trees many times as frames to lead the eye into the image...you have done a wonderful with this breathtaking view. Composition is superb.

I say WOW to the trees framing the photo. I do agree that seeing the waterfall completely would be nice but otherwise the photo is STUNNINGLY beautiful, postcard perfect!

This is a beautiful setting with a lot of depth. I also like the natural frame.

Very well done and thanks for posting

Nice landscape, I will borrow red45īs critique this time, I just think the same. You seem to go to very interesting places.

Hi Julie,
I really like your shot of what looks to be El Capitan in the background. I have used trees as frames in the past and it is a technique that at times works quite well.It helps to give a perspective of distance.
Nice job.
I am going to do a workshop on it.

Awesome scene! Still, what else could you expect from YNP?

Excellent colors and wonderful composition! I like to take picture with similar framing.

HI Julie

I think it is a great image - it shows what you saw - and you are sharing this view!

TFS

Verite

I agree with you Julie. It's nicely framed with the tree branch. I love how rich the blue sky is. It's just a feel-good picture. TFS Trevor
