What can I say? You wrote it in best way - this is dream photo! I wonder how hard it was to take and how many time you was waiting for it. But the result is wonderfull! Superb moment and quality. I like pose of this fly and its big tongue. I think this is one of Bombylidae.

I was travelling across your beautifull country twoi years ago. I saw Kiev, Lviv, Zaporoze and almost all Crimea. Unfortunatelly I didn't saw famous Odessa - maybe next time :-)

We have them here in our local park and they are pretty annoying and attacks bad.My family stopped coming with me to my daily walk because of this flies.

i´ve tried a few flying bees, but never succeeded.
perfect timing and terrific details - just look at that long sucker sticking out!
the 1/100 gave a great motion blur on the wing-movement.

This is fantastic! This is one of the best, if not the best flying insect photo I have seen on TN. Excellent detail, perfect DOF to include the whole insect. I think also for the slow shutter speed this is really outstanding. Wonderful work, thanks for sharing.

I have a strong suspicion that you partnered with this bug, made agree to hover in the same place while you clicked him. I don't see how else you could have taken such a sharp pic while the wings blur.

I love looking through your old pictures, this one is gorgeous, I love the furry insect with his 'beak' sticking up and his wings makins something like a translucent halo around him. Excellent details, vivid colors, splendid composition and POV, and a great blurred BG. Very well done !
