This moth? was hanging out on the wall of the building i work in... it was actually about 6+ feet up the wall, hence the lack of creative POV. I'm not sure what kind of moth it is, but will try and look in to it when i get some free computer time...

it was actually rather large, almost as long as my hand..

PP- Crop and unsharp mask

You have a Luna Moth there. They were once the big green squishy caterpillars you've probably seen in spring and early summer. :)

Wonderful capture! So lucky to have seen one just sitting there!

Wow - talk about luck! you were very lucky. what an amazing moth. you have caught the details in the moth very well especially given the white wall and sunshine.

Hello Laurita,
What a beautiful moth. I didn't know there are such "exotic" moths in New Jersey. A great POV, sharp details, lovely colors.
I find the brightness of the wall a bit distracting from that wonderful specimen, so I tried a workshop to tone that down a bit.
TFS. : )

tres beau specimen, belles couleurs.je trouve le travail de WS bien utile.

My best regards,

Wow! What an unbelievable moth. I work with a guy who records all the moths he sees at work on an Excel spreadsheet (whatever turns you on!) Last year he recorded over 250! Mind you, we work in a factory in the middle of woods and fields. I will definitely show him this one, it will make his day!
