Name of Insect: "Danait Tapuah Sdom" (In hebrew)
Size: 6-7 cm.

The photo was taken in north Israel>> Ma'agan Michael.

In one morning I took my camera to the fish pools in Ma'agan Michael.
There were no birds and no animals, but a lot of butterflies.
I picked up my camera and start to run after the insect, but it fly, and fly,and it doesn't stop.
But when it stop I took a slow steps and get closer and closer.
And when I was close enough I took 14 pictures of the butterfly until it flew away.

Fujifilm finepix s5000 (3MP)
macro mode
Hand held

Photoshop work: Levels+ Contrast+ Colors balance+ USM+ Crop

I did'nt use the Neat-Image because the noise took some important details from the butterfly.

A nice and sharp macro. You could try to remove the little gray spots on the right side of the flower.

Very nice one, great contrast and composition
Well done

The colours and marking on this one are just fantastic. Excellent composition. Well done.

Superb saturated colours. Sharp and detailed butterfly. Good composition. I like it very much Nitzan!

Great capture, tack sharp, good POV and colours.
I'm wondering if this could be a Danaus chrysippus, Plain Tiger, or a close relative of this, as it ressembles the one I found on this page.

HIi Nitzan
his is really a beautiful picture, the b'fly is crisp and clear and the diagonal positioning in the frame adds impact to what could have been just another b'fly picture. BG overall very goo.
However, to really enhance this, burn or clone the overexposed branches top, right & bottom left.

Well done and thanks for posting

Excellent shot, Nitzan. Vivid colours and a nice composition. Sharp detail in this macro shot. Very wel done.

A lovely sharp clear photo, your note brought a smile to my face imagining you running around after this butterfly. I don't think this photo needed Neat Image, it looks perfect without it! Excellent, well worth the effort to capture!

The overall image is well captured.
The down sides are, the oversharping has caused haloes around the B.fly and flower, lots of noise.
The Butterfly and flower are well focused, USM I presume as the reason stated.

Nit picking for the reasons above is not worth giving one point, I look at the overall BIG picture and effort that has gone into capturing the image "Composition."
Maybe a little IMO for you when critiquing others, IE, Livio.
In a friendly way, :) :)

I think I lost this one!!! Excellent macro shot. I like it vry much. Colours, details, composition, everything. A very good work, no nits. TFP.

Nitzan, I test at present a new and personal way of writing my critics and you are among the first ones to whom I send it.
Any comment will largely be appreciated.
Perhaps a little bit over-shapened, but it is personnal.

Hello Nitzan! That sounds like me chasing after a butterfly. I know exactly what you mean. One thing I have learned is that if instead of chasing the butterfly, you stand still... the butterfly will most likely come right back to the same spot, or somewhere close by. Your butterfly is beautiful with its bright colors and patterns, and is nicely composed smack in the middle of that bright flower. Great capture!

Very nice. Crispy and clear colors. A+

Lovely shot Nitzan. A great array of bright colours. A nice composition to view. May be slightly oversharpened as i can see a halo around the b'flies feelers, but it is a minor nit. Excellent work. Thanks

Stunning colours and sharpness!

Wow what a precision !!! You may be thankfull to this lovely butterfly for that pose.
Super shot

Perfect! Doesn't get any better than this. Paul :)

Hello Nitzan,
Beautiful compositon and the colours are a pleasure to look at.

PS Are you a member of the Kibbutz Maagan Michael? It's a lovely place :))

Well composed and great details. Amazing colors.

nice shot
i do find the twig top right is distracting and far over exposed and the butterfly is too central

This is wonderful!
Perfect on everything!
Above Scale!
Keep on going and TFS!

jolie composition avec de belles couleurs et de beaux details , bravo ! ;)

Hi Nitzan, excellent photo. All technicalities well covered and I realy like the contrast of the yellow and rusty brown. Well done.

Excellent photo. The only thing I would suggest doing is thickening the yellow border on the left hand side, so that it is equal to the other three sides. :)

Very deftly done! Wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
