Hi Gloria,
I hope you're doing fine wherever you are ;-))
I've never seen a dragonfly as red in colour as this chap, but I sure wish I had.
Sharpness seems okay, but your DOF range is too limited for a beast like this. You're not listing the settings, but with that camera I don't think even your max F-8 would be sufficient from this angle. Anyway, well done in the circumstances ;-))

Good photo, Gloria, like Milloup, I never see a dragonfly as red like the one you took. It got great colour and the sharpness of the picture clearly show the lines along the wing. I like it. Thanks for sharing.

WOW! Gloria such a nice specimen I have not seen. It's a very nice macro shot you posted. Well done! Anymore..? :)

Wow Gloria, besides being a beautiful and sharp capture, I was extremely happy to see that you are posting. I hope things are going well and that the new year brings good experiences and moments.

Well done and thanks for posting

what a nice picture. coloures of a dragon are wonderful. Litle more brightness will be maybe better.

Hello Gloria, nice shot. What a great looking dragonfly a little more light might be good but it's a great catch anyway.

As for the ID I think the genus Neurothemis might be a good place to start looking. I have a picture in my book of Neurothemis stigmatizans (in Malaysia) that looks identical to this one but I don't know much at all about Dragonflies in that area so there is a chance that I am mistaken.

Well done

Que linda Dragonfly, nunca tinha visto uma vermelha assim, parabens pelo registro.

Hi Gloria,

An excellent pic of this odonata. Amazing colour. Liked the deep red. The abdomen looks as if this guy had LED implanted and glowing in him :-).
TFS, Kiran

Hi Gloria, excellent photo. Good DOF. POV and Focus. Lighting could have been a little better, but still a good photo. Strange coloured wings. Havent seen any fully coloured wings on a dragonfly. Well done and keep shootin!!

I have never seen a red dragon fly before, did not know they existed. Have just been to Angkor Wat myself, but missed this one. Great picture!
