I wanted to photograph one of jumping spiders from long time. I still remember excellent macros of these spiders made by Howard and Mike [Fisher]. Unfortunatelly, without dSLR with good macro lens it is impossible... no, it isn't :-) Raynox helped again. This small piece of glass makes wonders with my camera. Look at this tiny fellow - it has got about three milimeters!

Last weekend was long, free weekend in Poland. We went to Milkowice at Jeziorsko lake to our old friend Kaszek. His parents have got summer house there, so we took opportunity and went to see them. Of course most imoportant for me and Kaszek was to make as many macros of interesting creatures as possible :-) And we did it! Meadows around Milkowice are full of spiders. Every bush or bunch of grass is settled by hundreds of them. Wasp spiders, cross-spiders, jumping spiders to name a few. We had got very good time to explore new 'lands' and to discovery many new species. Suddenly batteries in my cam said - enough! So, we went back :-)

Jumping spider was our ultimate trophy. It is obvieus then I dedicate this one to my old friend. Thanks for inviting us and for great time man!

Hi Greg !
Wow, awesome close-up on my worst nightmare ! Each little hair is sharp, and I love those big black eyes ! The little spider looks directly at you, seems that it is ready to jump on you ! :-) Wonderful colors, composition ad POV, and I also liked your note. Seems that you had a great time.
Valérie.

Hi Greg,

Thanks for the P.R. ;) Mine were with a point and shoot. ;)I was inspired to capture spiders by Howard's and Paul's work.

Love it, excellent shot and well done on the composition. Excellent details. The more you shoot these guys the more addictive it will become. ;)

Mike

Great macroshot Greg! The eyes are amazing! Good POV, composition and nice DOF altough the picture would even be better with a higher f-value. You could have suffered a little more in shutterspace. Anyway, excellent picture and I sure ain't able to reproduce it yet as I am really struggling with macroshots. Well done & TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Hi Greg,

Excellent capture Greg, I have been trying to capture one for a while too, and me and my dSLR are still trying. It's still the person behind the cam that counts ... ;-)These guys are quite active and such a nice low POV is difficult achieve.
Great work!
Regards,
Gabi

great close up Greg,
The details are nice, clear and sharp.
Good colours, lighting and exposure. DOF is spot on and the POV is good.
Well composed, well framed and good notes.
Thanks for posting, enjoy the rest of the week.

Je ne suis pas très rassuré...on dirait un véhicule blindé!!Quels yeux impressionnants. Composition, netteté et couleurs incroyables
Amicalement

Yes, your Raynox gives you a great detail and magnification, but as always, DOF range is smaller and smaller :)
This time you aimed perfectly on the eyes. It is most probably looking at you, I wonder how his neuronal system is processing the infomation :D
Lovely work, MF. It is really cute.

Hello Greg,
this is an excellent macro shot. Congrats. I like it very much. Excellent sharpness, details and very nice colours. Great POV and composition too. Thank you my friend.

Idealne makro. Niesamowity efekt, te pająki są dość małe. Pięknie pozował. Gratuluje ujęcia.
