Sorry I can't help you with ID, but even without name this insect is very beautiful. And you captured it so nicely ! I love all the details, patterns and textures on the bug. Composition, POV, colors and DOF are also very good. Very well done !

Hello Sky!
I just looked in my guide and all of six North American katydids listed there look clearly diferrent. Good POV gave you very nice contrast against the dark background and good sharpness of the wings. I bet those guys love to spend their time on green leaves. If you took an extreme closeup shot it would have most certainly looked like a fragment of a leaf. Regards,

Un correcto uso del flash, permite visualizar el insecto en su totalidad sin reflejos ni sobre exposición.
Buen DOF y POV, aunque el encuadre haya sido muy ajustado en el margen inferior.

Great post that demonstrates the level of mimicry of this insect.
Correct use of the flash, allows to visualize the insect in their entirety without reflections neither have more than over exposed.
Good DOF and POV, although the framing has been very adjusted in the inferior margin.

es hat ja solche strukturen und zeichnungen wie eine blattoberfläche.
