In the same location of the capture of the image of Giant Wood-Rail, I found a pair of youthful Common Moorhen (Gallinula chloropus).

After evaluating several takings of the same ones, I chose this one by the composition and obtained reflection.

Habitat: Freshwater marshes, edges of ponds and lakes, shores of slow-moving rivers. Prefers habitat with large areas of open water, some shallow water, and abundant marshy vegetation.

Diet: Leaves and stems of aquatic vegetation,
seeds, wild fruits and berries, mollusks, worms, insects.

Fairly large, duck-like waterbird with short wings and a short tail, very short, thick bill, frequently seen both swimming and walking, often flicks and cocks short tail while walking,
exposing white outer undertail coverts which are
also easily visible while swimming, sexes similar.

Adult: Red frontal shield above bill, red bill with a yellow tip, slate gray head, neck, breast and belly, brownish back and upperwings, white stripe along upper flanks, tarsus and feet greenish yellow, tibia red.

Juvenile: Small, dull red frontal shield, dark bill with dull yellow tip, pale gray-brown head and underparts, whitish throat and belly, dark gray-brown upperparts, white stripe along flanks.

Great one Ricardo,
I like the composition with the reflection a lot, the colours are good, and you have a great note with it, very good job

Very good Ricardo
The composition are great.
Nice colour and the reflections are very nice.
Good note
Very well done

Spot on note Ricardo these birds seem to be all round the world do'ny know if we imported them to you or if they have always been with you. Just love the refections the whole is so relaxed and even the ripples are very well seen. I guess its tidal but are they in fresh water or are they far enough down stream to be in brakish water.

Ricardo, Beautiful composition and tranquil colours. I can see this hanging on the wall. Very nice.
Pitty the second one is not completely sharp.
Greetings, Jan

This is exceptional. What a shot! The effects of the water and texture of ground is unique. I know of software that creates this "glass bevel" but nature always comes up trumps. Thanx for this momnet, Ricardo.

Very nice & pleasing compo with the refections in the water of this bird, Ricardo. The ripples on the water looks great too.

Wonderful shot, Ricardo. I like the very graphical composition with the diagonal arrangement of the birds, and the reflections. Good detail in the black plumage, too. Very nice.

Very nice Ricardo. The two views of the same species are good. They remind me of a married coupled that have just has an arguement! The reflections are really good as are the waves in the sand.
