[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Coal skink (Eumeces anthracinus) prefers to live in moist woodlands with a heavy layer of leaf litter. Like other skinks, it feeds during the day, rooting through leaves and loose soil for insects.

Its length is about 15-20 cm. It has a heavier body that other types of skink.

Additional note [after Chris Harrison's critique]:

First I thought this was coal skink, just by quick looking at skink picture cataloque at a website. Then, Chris said this is not coal skink, this is of Mabuya sp. Then, I surf some related nets. Yes, Indonesian's skink is from Mabuya sp. However, it is not that simple in figuring out from which species, since there are more than 80 species....

My best guess, this is Mabuya multifasciata (subspecies balinensis).

Lesson learned: hey, I know about skink a bit better now!

Hello Benyamin,

I really like your composition here! You got a nice pov and use a good dof. The only thing in my opinion is that the colors looks a little bit too saturated... But still a good picture and TFS,

Michel

This is not a Coal Skink. Coal Skinks are only found in the United States and they don't look anything like this animal.
It is more likely one of the large skinks in the genus Mabuya which are widespread in southeast Asia.

Hi Benyamin!
A cute lizard with good colors and explanation. The log is an original BG for the animal.
Anton

I look for newts, skinks and salamanders every time I walk in the woods and never see them. Then one day I'm walking down the sidewalk (of all places) and blammo--one's just staring back at me totally unafraid! And I don't have my FREAKING CAMERA!!!!!!!! AAAAaaaggggh!!!!

wow, this is one cool reptile, ben! :-)
those beasts are normally so fast and hard to capture,
great job you did here, and so well composed with it
sitting on the chopped tree trunk, only the focus seems a bit soft though.
well done & take care, thorsten.

Hello Benyamin !
What a colorful lizard, like a little rainbow ! :-) Focus seems to be a bit sot, but that's not a big problem, must have been very difficult to get this shot. The colors, composition and POV are excellent. I really like this picture. Very well done !
Valérie.
