Painted Turtle IV: a close-up portrait
Chrysemys picta

This turtle was the first one I photographed in the wild. Of course, this one was taken from a vivarium at the Ecomuseum at Ste-Anne de Bellevue, on the island of Montreal.
I like turtles. I saw a film few years ago called: The Nerverending Story. In that film there was a very old turtle who catches in the cold when that a teenager appears at her in search of information.
She said: "I am allergic to the Youth." I wish that you never become allergic to the Youth.

Please refer to the previous posts for more information on the Painted Turtle:
Painted Turtle I
Painted Turtle II
Painted Turtle III

I hope you like this one too.
Taken trough a glass, without tripod, without flash but with great pleasure.

I like all yours photos of Painted Turtle but this one is the best. Excellent colours and details. Great 'macro' shot of turtle if I can call that in this way ;-)

Wow Luc, what a great looking charachter. Love the colours. This image is so crisp and clear. Good one! I like your note. TFS

Now this is an exceptional example of crystal clarity and perfect DOF. It's a fantastic shot. I am sure you are very proud of this piece of work, Luc. WOW! Masterpiece.

Another stunner Luc. Great POV and DOF. Excellent work

Neon paint, an over active imagination, Some XXX fortification against the cold numbing the senses, and I think Luc cooked-up this guy in his search to shoot something other than pure snow! I have read the Neverending Story too.
Luc, words aree wasted here, just frame it and hanh it on the wall, wish it was mine!

Merci!

Great sharpnes, definition and colour. Going in this close has produced an excellent shot with lots of impact.

Congratulations. Points later.

Bravo, Luc!
