Very attractive creature I think ;-D
It's one of the caterpilars from family Nymphalidae. All of them looks strange with different types (and numbers!) of humps.
This species is "near" normal comparing to the other species. You can find it on Birch between June and September.
The adults flies in two generations: the first one in Spring - in May, the second one in July and August.

The wingspan of adult moths is about 55 mm.

There are one similiar species in Europe - Pheosia tremula. It's rather larger than this one - the maximum wingspan is 60 mm.

Hello Chris,
nice capture of this caterpillar, probably difficult to discover due to similar appearance and colours of the twigs.
Best wishes, Peter

Lovely sharp macro of this caterpillar, Chris!
Looks like he's on his foodplant, birch.
I like the diagonal comp.

A very unusual caterpillar, Chris.
I have never seen this combination of colors on a caterpillar.
Excellent focus and exposure.
I would really like to see what it will grow into.
