[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This picture is dedicated to all you nice folks on TN, both the old gang and the new, for taking the time to look at my pics. I wish I could look you all in the eye like this, and say Thank You for the friendship I have been privileged to share over the past 2-3 years.
Although I am a birder, nothing beats the rush of seeing and nailing the oh, so illusive cat in the wild, like here where she was lying in the shade of a tree late in the afternoon.
I am alive and well, am a grand dad of a lovely little Pinkfoot as of 5 May this year and still shoot whenever I can.
Stil am learing a lot about digital, and PSC2, and missing you guys too.
Regards
Callie

Kia ora Callie, so good to see you. And congratulations of your new grand daughter! (A pinkfoot! I love the title!) So you're now into baby photo portraits... That is fun - I love taking photos of my gr'chn...

Its in the glance and in those spots, and maybe the divine African light that makes this photograph a superb image.

Hi Callie,
Good to see you are still taking some amazing photos. Congrats. on becoming a grandfather to. This is a great shot. The soft filtered light looks great here. Spot on exposure is superb with the colors and sharp detail looking perfect. The great eye contact tops it off. Stop by more often!!!!

Ricardo

Amazing image my friend with great aesthetic sense for obtained POV, great use of the light, generating contrasts of sun and shade and very appropriate framing and OOF.
The sharpness on the head, allows to admire its penetrating look and the mustaches with total clarity.
With admiration... Ricardo

Hi Callie

I don't belive we've "met" yet so this is my first word on any of your shots. It really is gorgeous!
I also took a loot at your gallery and saw some very impressive work! Congratulations!
I really like the POV nad the pose from this picture. She looks very well camoufaged there in her own habitat (it looks ten times better that shots taken in zoos). Also great is the eye-contact and the little flash reflection from her eye.
Lovely colors and tones, excellent lighting and beautiful sharp details.

Bravo and TFS

Hi Callie, your photos are absolutely out of this world. I first discovered TN by putting 'ingwe' in a search engine and your photo posted in 2004 of an ingwe came up. I have been a fan ever since!! This is yet another beauty and I envy your skills - especially when I compare my efforts!! Its your photos that has inspired me to give photography a try - so a visit back to SA and the Okavango this year was the start for me. Thanks for all your fabulous work, inspiring others and enjoy your Pinkfoot!

Hello Callie,

It's very nice to see you again on TN as I have learned so much from your honest critiques in the period I had just joined TN. I really hope we will see your excellent pictures every once in awhile as it gives many of us the inspiration we seek. This is a very lovely picture with sharp focus, excellent details and a very nice blurred BG. Composition is perfect. If I was after perfection I would have cloned out the three straws in the left. Anyway, a well deserved big-dark-green-smiley. :) TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Ps-Congratulations on becoming a granddad! I wish you and your entire family well.

Oupa... ???? Ek sal dit nooit sê nie. :)

If any of you actually met Callie you would agree that it seems impossible for him to be a grand dad. He is young at heart and does not look ... well like a grand dad. I am still fortuante to take photos with him whenever I am in his neck of the woods. :)

Mostly I can get along with him quite well but on occasions such as these... don't you just wish this was your photo... I do... :)

Hi Callie,

Long time no see.
What do you have a big advantage with all those wild animals in your backyard.
And also my congrets old man with your granddaughter. That must be also a great subject for pictures.

All the best,
