Dark clouds are packed together above svalbard and this was one of those days in summer without even the slightest blow of wind. The clouds are typical for those conditions in the arctic. The mountains in the back are over 30 km's away showing the clear sky.
While doing field work on Svalbard this walrus (Odobenus rosmarus) passed by on his floe. It took him at least half an hour to move 100m.
The light conditions were poor. Afterwards (as often) I knew I'd better used a tripod or a stone to put my camera on.

Hello Jacob !
Yes, you're true, this walrus looks so lonely in this wonderful landscape ! Splendid composition and POV showing us these beautiful mountains in the BG, and I also like the heavy dark sky. Very well done !
Valerie.

Hoi Jacob,
Groeten,
Niek

Hi jacob,
Even if the light wasn't ideal, you give us a great impression of wideness in this nordic landscape. Our eyes wander from the walrus to the beautiful mountains in the back.
Regards
Anne
