this is a great bird photo. I think this is a Green finch. Great colours, excellent sharpness, very nice bg and great POV. This is a great composition. I like it very much. Thank you for posting.

Hello Reina

Although somewhat belated I just have to say welcome back.

After your period of absence that lasted almost 5 months it is great to see that you have regularly posted photos this last month. It is good to see you're back on the site. As you know I was absent too due to my operation and vacation after that, but I am back too.

I am not a birding specialist, but I do believe this to be a female Cape weaver - Ploceus capensis. I do not find a "green finch" anywhere in my "Sasol Birds of Southern Africa" book and as far as the weavers goes; this is the only greenish one that features in the area you visited. The only other two are yellow birds, namely the Spectacled weaver and the Yellow weaver.

It is a great photo with excellent composition and POV and I just love the eye contact the bird made while watching your every move. The OOF BG compliments the subject very well and although there are other reeds in the photo it adds to the atmosphere and habitat of the little bird. The colours are stunning and the exposure was well managed.

What a fabulous shot, the composition on POV are excellent with a great pose by the bird, nice sharp detail too, but its definatly the colours that I like the most, the wonderful blue tones in the BG compliment yellow/green tones of the Bird perfectly.

Very good detail, DOF, and I like the natural lighting/colors. Interesting vertical pose as it holds on to the bambo? shoot..The OOF BG graduating to blue enhances the shot :)

What a charming capture!
This cute little bird looks terrific here!
I like the pose you caught it in and the excellent DOF used here.
Also the warm light you managed very well enhanced all the colors wonderfully, the contrast is great and the POV exceptional.
