I've been posting alot of living things.. i thought i just post something that is not very common here in Singapore.. at least i think so.

In Singapore, you always see clear blue skies, or overcast grey skies but seldom to do you interesting cloud formations. People have told me this before too. But yesterday, as i was in my room (15th storey of my apartment building) playing around with TN, i looked out the window just about 7pm. And there was such a nice color and cloud formation in the sky.

Actually to the right of this picture was a HUGE DARK cloud formation (looks as if it was going to storm but it didn't, amazingly), but it didn't make a good enough picture because it was covering up all the light from the sun. And it disappeared by morning. (i could post a WS of that cloud formation if you want)

Those buildings that you see in the distance is actually Downtown Singapore, and from where i live, i can see it. I live at the eastern most part of Singapore.

By the way, it's such good news that we can actually see downtown clearly because Singapore has been polluted by unhealthy haze that blows from Indonesia from the forest fires.. and it's been a long time since we have clear vision of anything around, especially in distance.. so this clear view of the city means the haze PSI (Pollutants Standard Index) is very low and in the healthy range. So yay!

So here's something new for my collection of nature.. the SKY!

I hope you like it. Unfortunately i had to shoot at ISO 1600 without my tripod because sun sets VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY fast here in Singapore. It's like, u just saw it.. 2 mins later.. totally different.. another 2 mins later.. darkness..

Hi Stephanie,
Nice sunset and great city view.
regards
Matt.

hello! beauty sky! exellent colours and compo! TFS

Hi Stephanie,
This is a really special view. I had the opportunity to live in Singapore for almost three months, and never saw a spectacular sunset. I've heard about the smog situation and I am glad to see that the sky is clear again. So many people with asthma suffered during this period. I can also remember the very fast sunset, it really amazes me, especially knowing that our sunsets take a really long time during winter.

Looking at the photo, I think my appartment was just right of the down town area near the two under constructions buildings. BTW, do I see a balloon?

Techinically, you could have managed this photo in a different way. If you don't have the opportunity to use a tripod, try to underexpose your camera. Maybe even -2EV. This allows you to use a more pleasant ISO setting with a fast shutter speed. Just look at the photo I made: The Sun Set Not that I am asking for points, but just so you know what I mean. Actually it recommended to underexpose your camera when shooting a sunset or rise.

On PP work, you might want to add more contrast, and even darken the bottom totally. Also some adjusments on the color tones in the sky would be good as well. If you want, I can show you wat I mean with a WS later today.

Anyway, great to see Singapore with a beautiful setting sun.

Hello Steph,
This sky is beautiful and amazing. I guess that you didn't have many critics on this one because I believe that people think that this would be more suitable for TL or TE. As far as I'm concerned, I'm happy to see a part of your world and I enjoyed reading your notes, thanks,
Claudine
