I edited the emergence periods of the dragonfly.
I hope you like it.

I'd taken these photos for about two hours.
Step 1 ~ 9: for about 30 minutes,
Step 10~14: for about 1 hour 30 minutes.

Most dragonflies are the same, but capturing this moment are not easy because they emerge in very early morning at around 3 ~ 4 A.M.

Hi Kevin,
Good work...
Great content..

Hi Kevin, The mission of this site is: "Learning about nature through photography". With the work you've done here I think you have come closer to this mission then anyone else I've seen so far. And the photos are pretty good too. This is a very good presentation.

Thanks, John

Hi Kevin

Very neat and thorough work. It tells the whole story from beginning to end.

Great effort with this well prepared original presentation. It seems like each photo is excellently done and good enough that it could stand on its own as well. The collage is brilliant and the framing is outstanding.

Exceptional work and TFS.

Hi Kevin,
Really a great document and artwork. A pity that 800 for 800 limit don´t allow to show in a full resolution.
Interesting for all us, lover of nature.

Hi Kevin,
this is a great presentation of emergens.
As mention, pity with have only 800px here.
It is high on my list but I'm always 1 to 2 days to late;-(
You did a great job.

Hello Kevin,
This is something that I didn't see often; in fact I think that I never saw this phenomenon before.

There is a member here, "MUSIN1002" who does butterflies’ transformation pictures but I guess I never saw the Dragonfly’s process. This is really well done with excellent timing and great presentation. I just wish that those pictures could be a little larger ;)

A warm welcome to TN :-)

Hi Kevin,

A very scholarly post! This represents what TN is all about. I appreciate the time and effort that went into this presentation. It is very professionally presented. The final center image is outstanding.

(I must be out of green smiles, I do not see that option. So I will be back later).

Excellent and interesting.
Pic XII as a quality less good as the other ones, as the exuvia is too close to the frame and the background is less defocused.
I love the idea, composition and achieved result.

Ricardo

What a magnificent job and what a beautiful presentation! You have worked it so well!!! I should like to know how much time the whole process lasts, for it is almost incredible that such a creature can emerge from such a lesser form.
