[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

Favorite plant of many housewives, easily replanted with it's rhyzoms.Iris is a genus of between 200-300 species of flowering plants with showy flowers which takes its name from the Greek word for a rainbow, referring to the wide variety of flower colours found among the many species.
Not a picky plant, can grow in swamp, water, dry land, very adaptable.
Root system is actualy a rhyzom, some are growing from creeping rhizomes (rhizomatous irises), or, in drier climates, from bulbs (bulbous irises). They have long, erect, flowering stems, which may be simple or branched, solid or hollow, and flattened or have a circular cross-section. The rhizomatous species usually have 3-10 basal, sword-shaped leaves growing in dense clumps. The bulbous species have cylindrical basal leaves.
Some Iris rhizomes are harvested, dried, and aged for up to 5 years. In this time, the fats and oils inside the roots undergo degradation and oxidation, which produces many fragrant compounds that are invaluable in perfumery. The scent is said to be similar to violets. The aged rhizomes are steamed distilled which produces a thick oily compound, known in the perfume industry as iris butter.

While the image is admittedly a little small, you have nonetheless presented us with a most unusal and clever POv and composition with great colours and details.

Hello Tanja,
you deliver such a nice insight into the blossom. It's a pity that you have chosen such a small format.
Best wishes, Peter

Hola Tanja:
Bonita macro, muy detallista y buenos colores. Saludos Sira

Hi Tanja,
Great POV - makes this one look very abstract.
I love the colors and the water drops.
Wish it was bigger

Hello Tanja,
The only problem with this image is its small size. Otherwise it's a very nice idea and great performance. I like this a bit diagonal composition and vivid colours.
Best greetings,
