[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I am still having trouble finding the correct categorie when it comes to some of my photos. Lots of options for the animals, but alsmost none when it comes to landscapes or other nature photos.

This photo was taken a few weeks ago during our second visit to Haaksbergerveen. You know the place my dad and I want to visit each month during an entire year.

What you see is new live, grass, living on what is left over of a dead birch tree. These lost souls, how I called them in a previous photo, are all around this swamp area.

PP talk: Convert to RAW, adjust levels, curves and USM. The colors are real and not altered.

Hi Niek!

This is very good photo. So arty and different from everything else seen on TN. On thumbnail it looks like spider. You've got very good eye to catch beautifull moments like this one.

Muy buena composición Niek, parece una imagen en b/w.
Sencilla pero impactante.
Saludos, JL.

tres original, on dirait de l' abstrait
bravo et encore merci

This is nce Niek. I do like and appreciate your intimate compositions. This is very bold in its simplicity and contrasts. It's fun to look at.

Hi Niek

What an amazing composition! Splendid work! This is indeed a blend of nature/abstract and "landscape"/"lake" (although neither really fit) which doesn't quite belong in any category.
...But i say that's what makes it so special, so unique :)
The POV here is great, the exposure great adn the sharpness impecable. Also the light is wonderful, its reflection passing from darker in the FG to lighter in the BG.
Very well done, my frined!

Bravo and TFS

Hi Niek,
Original composition, I like the natural colours of the setting.
To my opinion it is a pity that the water is not reflecting like a mirror. There is still some movement in the water. Next time, try a much longer exposure time. That absorbs the movement of the water and will make it more flat.
Nevertheless a good job.
Regards, Ruud

Nice simple image, Niek. It's like an abstract pen drawing. The fine lines of the grass and the waves of the water make a wonderfully rich image. Well seen and captured!

Hello Niek,
this is simple but a great photo. Excellent framing, exposure and reflections. Thank you.

Hello Niek,
Lovely minimalism, great textures!
Well composed and a treat to my eyes...

Hi Niek

This is really unusual but very artistic. I love the shapes especially with the reflection. Set off well by the pinky/grey tones

Hi Niek

i think this is stunning, from the composition to the subtlety of the tones. i actually think the small amount of movement in the water makes a nice compliment to the straight linear shapes of the grass.

One for my faves, so thanks.

Hello Niek,
This is an original, sophisticated and very artistic picture. I like this! Seems like an abstract painting! This reflection is really amazing! It looks like a B&W picture. I enjoyed reading your notes about it and I like this place, Haaksbergerveen (ouf, that was hard for me to write, lol). Well done and TFS,

Hello Niek, this certainly is different and I like it a lot. A very artistic approach to this landscape. well done.

Hello Niek,
I like this ascetic almost graphic-like photo. Nice artistic view and very different from most shots we see here.
Best greetings,
