Hi Pedro
A title like "Hard rock in soft sand" could have worked just as well while it sounds as apposing as "Square peg in a round hole".
Although the photo has a very tranquil appearance to a degree it also looks very dark and dramatic. Maybe it reflects a little bit about the year which we just said goodbye to. Just as a matter of interest, here is some symbolism which I noticed in your photo:
- The light tries to break through, but it is hampered by the darkness in the clouds,
- The uniform structure of the pockets in the clouds are broken by a couple of straight lined clouds running across the frame,
- While life might treat us softly at times we also experience the hardships that comes along with it,
- There is no stopping the rhythm of life as the tides roll in and the tides roll out without any pause,
- We can filter many things thrown at us without showing any signs of it afterwards, like the water that washes over the sand and then just disappears.
It sure is a fine photo and a great way to end the year of 2006.
Excellent work and TFS.
Regards
Loot
PS. May you and your loved ones experience all the joy & happiness, good health & strength, as well as prosperity & fortune in 2007. And of course some good light on your photographs.

Hi, dear Pedro.
I'm glad to see you in 2007.
Subject (idea) of your picture is great. Rock diagonal is amazing as well as your lowest POV. Excellent arrangement of lights and shadows. Sky, water, rock and sand surfaces are reflected nicely. Next your piece of art. BRAVO and my best wishes in this year.
Yours Alexei.

Hi Pedro,
Really stunning. The lighting and POV are just perfect. The depth in the photo is just awesome. The clouds and the flat piece of rock really gave it this depth. That rock is really beautiful, such great shape. great work my friend.

Niek

Estupenda playa. El mar parece no poder acabar con la roca, pero tiempo al tiempo...
Buena presentación. Saludos, JL.

Hi Pedro
Another fantastic seascape from you!
The mood here is indeed fantastic and the "contrast" between the density of the materials here is great. That long rock looks like it's been there for ages but it's slowly eroded by the water and bit by bit it turns into it's surroundings - sand.
The light in the sky is also fantstic, the shapes of the dlous are wonderful and all-in-all the composition is magnificent!
Cheers and Happy 2007

Ola Pedro!
I just found this fabulous shot! It reminds me - without hesitation - of some beaches and scenes along the Bay of
Fundy.
Excellent presentation, I like the PoV, as well as the sensation of the rock as well as the cloud formations pointing to a far away point... as in to the future on the timescale.
Excellent natural colour! Well done! Obrigado, Jay
