Finally got a macro lens - and this is the first image from it - of a bird...!

The Great Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) is a widespread member of the cormorant family of seabirds. It breeds in much of the Old World and the Atlantic coast of North America.

It is a large black bird, 77-94 cm in length with a 121-149 cm wingspan. It has a longish tail and yellow throat-patch. Adults have white thigh patches in the breeding season.

Hello Shir,

Excllent work, Great colors Bg POV DOF perfect details very crisp, nicly composed and capture photo, excllent work, TFS Kyle

Hello Shir,
A wonderful image of great visual impact.
So simple and so powerful at the same time.
It reminds me some kind of "spy" secret airplane, with folded wings.
Very good the POV used here.
I like a lot the composition, and the frame works pretty well.
Congratulations for this photo (and for the macro lens!) and thanks for share,
JM

I would training a little with new equipment..

Great idea but I don't know..something is missing..

Less off focus, less of colors..

Best regards,
Sandu

This is very interesting, Shir...no, wierd - to shoot a bird with a macro lens...but it turned out magnificent!
Who would have thought :)
The silhouette of this cormorant is simply amazing and all its feathers are so nicly visible!
The monochrome BG really helped you to get a simple but very effective composition here!
Wonderful work!
Hope to see more shots of you and your new lens...even if they are not 100% macro :)) (congrats on the buy, too).

Bravo and TFS
Horia

Hello Shir,
distinctly creative capture, remarkably well frozen in motion, perfectly composed. Some lightening up might be worth trying in postwork to bring out just a little bit more structures in the bird.
Thank you! BEst regards,
Peter
