Welcome to TN! Richmond park is very nice place for photography.
This picture looks very natural. I very much like the BG cause it gives nice depth. The POV is lovely and details very clear. The picture seems to be a tiny bit too dark but maybe it's just because of gloomy mood. Looking at your settings I guess you didn't have best light to play with.
Anyway, very well done on this one!

the deer looks like a statue, but an amazing sight. I can imagine you're really glad with this moment. The light is great, creating soft colours. Also nicely shaded forground and well exposed deer. Great work, Jacob

Welcome to TN. Good post here. Exposure, sharpenss and colour balance all look good. You've timed this one well getting great eye contact. Enjoy the D200...big learning curve for me. Have hammered out 14,000 frames in just over a year...still learning!

great capture of this magnificant creature. i went searching for Red Deer this year near where i live (New Forest), where they are semi wild - they're not that easy to find!
This is great, excellent sharpness and pose, the colours are perfect.

Hi Simon and a warm welcome to TN :)
This is splendid shot!
I really like the POV here and the pose you managed to capture this impressive stag in - very nicly against the horison and with nothing in the FG to distract the attention.
Also the fact that he turned his head towards you is a great plus, giving you a so-difficult-to-get eye-contact.
The fucus here is simply impeccable and the DOF is perfect, keeping him in exceptional sharpness and the BG nicly blurred.
The natural colors and tones are wonderful and the warm light on him is lovely.
A superb composition, all-in-all.
Bravo and TFS

WOW Simon! Signed on 21 days ago, and 21 photos later ...
Well done!I missed yur arrival at TN, but want t stil wecome you! What a great shot we have here!
The f/g and b/g are nicely "blurred" to throw the full focus on the standing stag. The Alexander Keith's folks should get in touch with you, as the stag - and the stag only - commands our attention. Well done. And loverly colours to boot! Cheers, Jay
PS "Alexander Keith's" are brewers of Pale India Ale since 1820 in Nova Scotia, aye!

Wow what a gorgeous Stag you capture here. He looks so proud and healthy with good confirmation. I like that he is looking directly at you and his antlers stand out so nicely. Well done.
