Lesser Black-backed Gull
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [Spanish]|
|This Lesser Black-backed Gull is one within a group devoted to patrol among fishing boats and eating discarded fishes. The dynamics of the group reminds me some bad parties when I was young and "tortilla de patatas" was scarce for so many guys, so they are obliged to be very rapid both catching fishes and swallowing it. This large fish was a real problem for it.|
I used a Nikon D200 with a 70-210 mm lens

What a fantastic shot, Carlos!
I have never seen a gull catch a fish.
The gulls in my area mostly go for the bread crumbs thrown to them by the people.
The head of the gull and the fish are so so sharp and in a beautiful light.
The back-stretched wings make for a very dramatic posture.
Wonderful POV and timing. Congratulations!
Great shot that illustrates what scavengers these gulls are.
Ever eager to catch a throw-away. TFS, Jay
Muy buenas Carlos
Una bella captura la de tu sombría al igual que tu captura, buenos blancos y todo lo demás.
Taken at the decisive moment indeed.
Great POV.... lovely capture, fantastic to catch it at the moment it is grabbing that fish; the upsweep of the wings is just beautiful. Wonderful clarity and detail. TFS
Great Shot, Congratulations.
