And again a reptile :)
This time the only poisonous snake in Central Europe, and one of the only three members of family Viperidae occurring in Europe - Vipera berus.
In Poland, as in many other European countries, V. berus is protected by the law.
The main reason is that since last few decades this species reduced its number in many regions of Poland - mainly because of human activity.

This picture was taken in Lebskie Bagno Nature Reserve (near Lebork, N Poland).

This photo is dedicated to Romanian colleague and lover of reptiles - Horia.

Niesamowicie zapozowala!

respect yves

What a fantastic pose of this viper, Radomir.
A perfect "S" coil, with a fetching upward tilt of the head.
The details are very sharp and well-exposed.
Strong colors in the intricate designs of the scales.
TFS. : )

very interesting expression. good focus but the head seems either out of focus a tad or a tad overexposed.

This is truely a wonderful photo and dedication!
I am honored! :)
The adder looks very beautiful and presents a great ready-to-strike pose!
I raelly like the low POV here which gives a very nice idea of the perspective of the snake, the DOF is excellent and it isolates the subject very well from the BG.
I also like the fill-in flash work that does well to bring an extra bit of brightness to the picture and saturates the colors nicley, too.
The details are very clear and sharp, as well and the textures on the scales are gorgeous.
nice framing and sueprb composition!

BRAVO, TFS and again a splecial thanks for the dedication :)

excellent, this unusually colorful V. berus picture. Thanks for the detailed note.
Cheers, Dietrich

Another interesting snake capture Radomir with great point of view.

I like it a lot: composition, POV, DOF, sharpness, colors, focus, background, lighting, framing.

I like it: notes.

I don't like it: nothing.

Opportune shot capturing the typical defensive posture of these species.
Thank you and greetings... Ricardo

A great picture, Radomir.
Fascinating animals. Unfortunately I do not have a lot of snake knowledge. Yes, a lot of prejudices...
No snakes whatsoever in my country that 's probably another reason for the fascination issue.
Nice shot, Radomir.

Hi Radomir,
time for a serious update on your pictures. I must say your images are really great and deserve more attention. All of them sharp, showing unusual species and well presented. Take this Viper, also a great picture. He's alert, but the curled up body reveals all details. Well done.
Cheers, JAcob

this is my favorite...

Hi Radomir,

This is an excelent shot of a female adder.
In Romania too, this species has lost some ground due mainly to habitat loss.
This photo has a great POV and very nice details.
Thanks for sharing,

Oh dear Radomir! This one looks ready to strike! I hope you were using a camera with telephoto lens! There is no way I would do this with the macromode as I did my sleepy Smooth Green Snake... Beautiful markings on this viper. Tfs, Jay

Pozdrawiam

wonderful photo. Bravo and thanks for sharing.

Waawwwwwwwwwww! A nice capture of a polar viper friend! I love these creatures. I think my spirit looks like to them:) However, according to me the most beautiful organ of these is their eyes! It represent their force and self-confidence! TFS friend.

indeed nice specimen and capture, thanks for sharing...
