I can't fault this shot of the male Redpoll. Sharpness, lighting comp. BG.
It has all the attributes of a first class shot. Did you have ISO 400?

Very nice capture of this little fellow. Very good and natural colours, sharpness and dof with well blurred background and plenty of details in the plumage. The pose is lovely and with him sitting on a lonely twig the focus really is on him. The composition is ok because the object is out of centre but IMO you could have improved it even more by usin the classical one third composition (see my latest post - it shows what I mean) and put him a little more in the top of the picture. If it is a cropped picture and you still have the original it is easy to do some experiments.

The lighting, sharpness, overall quality of this image is fantastic! What camera are you using? I would lighten it just a wee little bit - but other than that, WOW. :) (By the way, they are finches, not sparrows) ;)

I like this little bird sitting with the bent head making it look very much in though. I also like the beautiful colours, very sharp focus, the blurred background, and the nice composition.

A beautiful shot of the Redpoll. We have them here in New Zealand, but I have never seen one. I love the head down pose. Nice catchlight in the eye and lovely background. Very nice camera work!

In Italy we call it 'ORGANETTO'.
It's a lovely small bird and you captured it well, in a good pose.
The colors here are great as well as the compo and sharpness.
What I like most is the BG and the spark on the eye.

Hi Mikael

A very beautiful capture!
The sharpness of every detail here is impeccable and crispy-clear...i love it!
Also the rahter shallow DOF did well to concentrate all the focus on the bird and branch and to blurr the BG very nicely.
The POV is excellent, the warm, not too strong light, made all the colors charming and the composition is pleasant.

Definición, agudeza e excelente control de la luz son los puntos fuertes de esta escena Mikael generando una composición muy bonita realmente.
El estético encuadre junto al bello punto de vista colaboran con la misma, con el bonus del perfecto fondo para realzar los detalles del ave y su percha.

Clearness, sharpness and excellent light control are the strong points of this scene Mikael generating a very beautiful composition really.
The aesthetic framing together to the nice point of view collaborates with the same one, with the bonus of the perfect bottom to enhance the details of the bird and its hanger.
