Phoenix has a wonderful Zoo that I visit annually. They have the Giraffes in a huge area with many other animals and in the afternoon they feed the giraffes so they get close and give you a brief update on the Giraffes!

a fine upward shot showing the giraffe using its powerful neck to reach the parts other animals cant reach..!!
the mouth parts of the giraffe are quite interesting regarding toughness and texture
the giraffe's food in the wild..the acacia..emits toxins after browsing so 'chasing away' the giraffe to another plant so that the tree is not over browsed..the toxin signals are reputed to be sensed by other trees and trigger of similar signals...so giraffes are seen to walk around a lot while feeding

Hola Amigo gracias por tus palabras para mi foto...
Excelente captura y magníficos detalles, buena composición, buen disparo. Saludos Rich

nice composition, but is there a color cast? i recall the giraffe having more orange and less brown spots. good focus.
