The Spangled Cotinga is distributed throughout the Amazon and Orinoco basins and into the Guianas. It is found in humid forest and woodland where it is usually seen in the canopy or at the edges.

The male, as seen in these photos, is a bright turquoise blue with black showing through in places, mostly black wings and tail and a large throat and upper breast patch of bright magenta purple.

Hi Biswarup,
The colors of this bird is so fascinating. I liked the composition showing him in its natural surronding.Dark bg makes the bird's colors stand out very well, and forms a very nice contrast. Good focus and sharpness, and good use of light. TFS
