The lesser fly in this shot is getting more...
My crab spider has also applied the motto.
By moving less she caught more.

It was utterly amazing to me that while the green-bottle was being "sedated" the smaller [hover?] fly was having a good suck on the daisy that was well past its prime, apparently totally oblivious or uncaring about the drama about one-and-a-half centimeters away...

Information about crabspiders is available at the opening shot of this sequence.
This Crab Spider, ( Misumena vatia ), is also known as a Flower Spider or Goldenrod Spider.

What an "intriguing" shot!!
One is sedated, one eats, and one SCORES!
OR, one is sedated, and TWO eat!!

Anyway, liked your POV AND the photographer
notes....which gave the "heads up" on the scenario before our eyes, which was interesting AND helpful!!

GREAT composition!!

Hi Jay,
Perhaps lesser fly knows that spider will not eat in the next seconds. Man can learn even from flies. A great action shot.

Hi Jay,
Thanks for showing us this tiny drama as it unfolds. The capture is well detailed, colores and composed, great job.
Rick

Hi Jay.
You managed to catch a very nice moments and scene. Your shot is composed perfectly. To show half of flower is very creative godsend. Excellent colour palette (rich white, yellow, green colour tones), details and sharpness. Lighting is soft but effective. Nice picture. My compliments and TFS.
Alexei.

Hi Jay,
you captured a nice action of the crab spider.
The details are very good, nice colours and well composed.
Well exposed t÷÷. I like this picture.
Well done.

Hi Jay,just reviewing some of your pictures and this one caught my eye.I'm not crazy about flies but in this case I do not mind.It is so neat that the spider which is smaller can take on something larger and prevail. Your photo lacks in clarity but given the drama and action of this shot, that is not a problem.Thank you for showing the world this one. Here in Alberta we have these spiders as well. Bob
