[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Located in southwestern Utah, Snow Canyon State Park is where red mountains, white hills and black lava beds form an area of many opportunities for hikers and photographers. Petrified sand dunes pock marked with shallow holes quickly fill after infrequent rains and offer ephemeral reflections of the red sandstone and blue skies.

In the past, Snow Canyon was a seldom visited area, known only to the few who lived in the area. As Las Vegas has grown, more have also moved into this area and Snow Canyon is becoming a more popular destination. More visitors mean more restrictions, fewer areas that are open to 'wandering' around.

This photo was taken from an access road, open to horses and bikes, that runs through a seldom seen part of the park.

Hi Allan,
Very nice the contrast between the hot and cold colours...
Thanks, Enrico.

Hi Allan,
It looks a bit like Selen's pic posted yesterday if I'm not mistaken; these wonderful coloured layers. Not done in Photoshop;-)...

G'day Allan.
Great tones and contrasts in the rocks. I also love what looks like saltbush or similar in the foreground. A really pleasing pic. Well done.
Regards, Steve.

Good contrast. The sage brush creates a good counterpoint to the slickrock, both in colour and texture.

Hello Allan,
Migrating over here to TN like I did? Good shot from the Snow Canyon. Nice and clear colors despite the harsh light... I like the way the sagebrush lead to the hill.
Best wishes,
Hakan

Hi Allen,
there is nothing quite like the american southwest is there? This was nicely captured with that cobalt sky - I hope to see more in your portfolio soon!
Saludos
Kevin

Hello Allan,
Wow, very nice photo of landscapes!!
Wonderful colours and outstanding details, amazing blue color of sky, well done!!
Regards and TFS,
Kevin

It is a lovely landscape, with a lot of prespective and nice saturated colours.
It is a pity you did not use the 800 pix. Tn offers so we could see a bit bigger, it has a lot of nice details.
Welcome to TN, hope you enjoy the site.
Regards, Felipe.
