[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
There now seems to be a group of at least three or four Kestrels roaming the tops of the trees in the woods by my house.Every now and then they take to the sky to search the ground for food, dive to their prey and then return to base.I've also noticed them chasing smaller birds in air to air confrontations.

They are truly a delight to watch.

You can see more information on kestrels here.

Hi David,

Oh, I like this. The pose is wonderful. The Kestrel on the tree against the blue sky makes a lovely picture.

David, this pose is absolutely perfect! It looks regal and alert: a delight in your photo as well as in your life.
The composition is perfect (as are the usual technical details)

A scene to die for, David.
I love kestrels, and to see this one perched so prettily on top of that tree !
This handsome bird stands out beautifully against the blue sky.
Sharp details, good light, and great POV.
TFS. : )

lucky you! excellent sharp and clear shot
with nice colors and details.
i really like the position to the left with
enough space for him to watch over.
well seen & captured, thorsten.

Hello David , very good composition but a little loss of sharpness , good luck.

Hi Dave,
Another capture of these beautiful chaps!
Very nice capture. Interesting to compare with the previous post you had - it seems to have more saturated colors.

Hello David

Really a very nice picture of this Kestrel - a little soft on focus but I like it a lot. The clear blue sky makes a perfect background. The colours in the plumage look very nice and natural. The composition is just by the book.

All over a very pleasant picture to look at and you did a great job.

Hello David,
Very fine composition showing this Kestrel in beautiful light. Sharp details and nice colours. I like the way you've cropped it showing the sloping conifer branch. Excellent composition.
TFS and regards, Ulla

Those guys are always over everything :) They have a "look" around and then they plan their journeys like they want :( This is an impressive capture with excellent POV, subject, Pose form the bird, lightning and exposure. This is very well done!:) They are masters of the air :) Thanks,
