(2454) [2009-07-31 02:45:06] [6] [+] | Hi Dietrich,
I don't think the sharpness is a serious fault, the details of the moth a quite good. I did think that overall the image was a bit dark for a day-flying moth and I did notice some noise in the background. So I have used Neat Image at 70% and have increased the brightness +25.

 Noise Reduction | accassidy
(2454) [2009-07-06 14:37:06] [1] | Hi Roberto,
I have used Neat Image, which you can download from the web, with luminance set at 80% to reduce noise in the background. I have also used the Blur Tool in Photoshop carefully to remove some small artifacts caused by general sharpening If you zoom in and look around the antennae and the purple flowers, you will see what I mean. Its just to make the image look smoother and a little less processed.

 Noise removel, lightening | accassidy
(2454) [2009-07-05 13:16:27] [2] | Using Neat Image and Photoshop Elements, I have reduced the background noise, cropped the image a bit tighter top and bottom, then sharpened and lightened a bit. I have also changed the aspect ratio a tad to make the butterfly appear wider. A cheat, sure, but it seems to work here.

 Shadows, noise | accassidy
(2454) [2009-06-18 14:24:33] [1] | The butterfly in the original looks to me to be rather in shadow and under exposed. I have lightened the shadows using Photoshop Elements and lightened the underside of the Copper. I have also used the Blur tool on the BG to reduce some noise that was more evident in the brighter picture.

(2454) [2009-06-16 08:46:55] [2] | Hi Alina,
I have used the Blur Tool Photoshop Elements to remove noise from the background, and then darkened the highlights in the picture to remove a little glare from the hindwing. Lastly, selectively sharpened some of the hindwing where it was just a little out of focus. Best wishes.
