|Intro:||Since as far back as I can remember, I have always loved looking closely at flowers and rock-pools, and this fascination has continued throughout the whole of my life. |
I was born and brought up in Scotland until I was 13, and have lived in England until two and half years ago, when we moved to Norway. As a farewell present from my friends at work, I was given a small pocket Sony camera, my first digital camera, which I very soon found limiting, although it was a terrific introduction to digital photography. Since then, I have upgraded to a Nikon D40, with a standard 18-55 mm lens, and added a 55-200 lens as well. I often wonder if I should invest in a dedicated macro lens, but walking on rocky coasts, or through hillside woodlands precludes the use of a tripod.
I would welcome any advice about upgrading my camera, having looked at a variety of options; but I am really an absolute beginner. I am also very willing to learn, and would welcome constructive criticism and workshops.
Having seen the standard of photography here on TN, I am sure that I should not be posting any photos at all! It is an inspiration and a revelation to me. I can hardly believe the standards set by photographers around the world. I love nature, and the scales continue to fall from my eyes.
I try to show photos of unusual plants and animals, but definitely remain an amateur photographer.
