I've always had a passion for wildlife and nature and love taking photos. (some day I may actually figure out what I'm doing)
My husband and I took up coarse fishing a number of years ago (all catch and release with due care taken to return the fish quickly and unharmed). The photo here shows me and BOB (BigOldBoy) my personal best to date. Bob is a 24 lb 4 oz Common Carp, caught August, 2006. In the future I'll be aiming at a 30 lb-er. (In my dreams) Fishing gives me the perfect opportunity to spend all day, and sometimes the night, out of doors with my camera to hand. Some of the scenery is stunning and the variety of birds and waterfowl, abundant. Not to mention the smaller critters, bank voles, water voles, mice, mink (unfortunately - an alien species causing problems in the environment), rats (yes, I don't mind rats in the wild, it's where they belong), bats, deer and all sorts of insect and bugs.
Every once in a while I get a shot that I think looks good. It's those I'm hoping to share on this site.
