| Intro: | Update 10 March 2009 I have been on Treknature for just a little less than 2 1/2 months and just reach 500 points. Trough the critiques I have gotten,I have learned a lot in a very short amount of time. I appreciate the nice compliments and learn form them what others think makes a good picture, but I have learned more from my friends at this site that have told me things that they believed were wrong with the picture or that they might have done a little differently. Thank you to all and I look forward to posting more pictures and looking at many of the wonderful photos of the members of this group. I am a 65+ amateur photographer living in Huntley Illinois. Huntley is about 45 miles North West of Chicago. I have been interested in photography for most of my life, but didn't take is seriously till after retirement in 2003. At that time I bought a little point and shoot digital and I was hooked. A few years later I bought my Rebel XTi with the 2 lenses that were in the kit. I have become very interested in Nature photography as I explore the world around me. I am involved in two citizen science projects that require me to monitor birds in the winter and butterflies in the summer. Both of these activities have given me opportunities for pictures. I have a long wish list of camera equipment, but I am happy making due with what I have. I try and make the best pictures I can with the equipment and software I have available. I hope I can lend something to this site by showing people around the world what nature has to offer in this part of the United States. At the same time, I hope to learn from the number of helpful comments. Bob | |
