 Cropping | devildoc
(2851) [2013-08-24 12:22:38] [1] | Cropped, lightened shaded area on birds with highlight/shaddows, and increased vibrance and saturation. The results would have been better if using the original image. Hope you like.
Best regards,

Wanted to change dimensions and tone, eliminating the "nothingness" to right and left of focal point. Realize the quality of cropping a low resolution image will be less, but the technique is differs from the original Maybe better ... maybe worse? Mike |

(2851) [2013-08-05 20:56:25] | Stephane,
Realizing that a drastic crop would negatively change the quality, I wanted to change the tone and eliminate some of the "nothingness" to the right and left of original image. Tone changed the graying blue to blue. Hope you like. Mike |

 Shadow/Highlight/Masking | devildoc
(2851) [2013-04-24 21:31:06] | I wanted to leave the image as it was except for the bird. I created layer (control J), highlighted the whole image, applied mask and brush tool and painted (masked) entire image EXCEPT bird. Then merged layers. Only the bird remained highlighted so one can see the eye and yellow colors better when brought out of the shadows. Hope this technique will be useful to you. |

 cropping/enlarging | devildoc
(2851) [2013-04-24 20:49:53] [1] | Way,
I cropped the image because I like to have nature up close and personal. The were a bit lost in the original and the sun in the background was too light. Increased the midtones a bit. Hope you like. Couldn't lighten the shadows on the bodies of the egrets.
Best wishes,
Mike |

 Cropping/Sharpening | devildoc
(2851) [2013-04-23 23:42:19] | Cropped image and used unsharpen function with Adobe Photo Shop. Had you done this with original image before resizing, the results would have been better. Sometimes we do this to compensate for not getting close enough or not using an adequate longer (telephoto) lens. I am sure my WS will be very noisy (pixels showing). Hope this helps you. |

 Color adjustment/Sharpening | devildoc
(2851) [2013-01-18 23:02:46] [1] | Cropped smidge...adjusted color, and highlighted using Shadow/highlight function. Latter done ONLY to Rail: creating 2nd layer, highlight to whole layer, apply mask, brush tool with 100% opacity to cover ALL highlight except the Rail. Hope this technique is useful to you.

 Highlight/Cropping/Sharpening | devildoc
(2851) [2013-01-13 12:04:14] | Roberto,
Created 2nd layer, highlighted, sharpened, and increased midtones of entire second layer. Created mask of 2nd layer, selected Brush Tool and masked everything except what I wanted to highlight and sharpen (which was the butterfly. Think the BF is more vivid and a better focal point. You had the composition and the focus already ... just needed to enhance it. Also cropped bit to enlarge focal point (BF) and increased resolution with decrease in pixel widths. |

(2851) [2013-01-12 17:04:05] [2] | Hi Stone,
These are beautiful flowers. I wanted to lighten them up, so I used Shadow/Highlight function and increased the midtones. Then applied the unsharpen mask to increase sharpening. Hope the WS is an improvement. Best wishes,
Mike |
