I used CS3 to clean up your photo a bit.
-Cloned out pink smudge
-Cropped a bit tighter on the left
-Added a replica border (I had to crop the original off when I re-composed it)

1. Selected the BG only with magic wand, intensity set to 10. Used Surface blur 10/10 to blend BG.
2. Selected the dark breast feathers with magic wand, intensity set to 15. Dropped shadows by 50%.
3. Slight sharpening with hand tool.
