I felt the photo needed some more contrast and the sky needed some work as well. I created a curve adjustment layer for the landscape and one for the sky where I made the sky lighter. I also cloned out several dust/water marks.
When I made the changes to the sky I noticed that with the PP work on the original some ghost like mountains appeared just above the real mountain. This is probably caused by cloning. I cloned those out as well plus I tried to clone out the brighter rim along the mountain edges.
I would recommend to go back to the original and make sure that the darker edge on the mountain is marked away as well.
Here I used, level adjustment in Photoshop, some minor color correction and sharpening which of course does not giving us ideal results in this stage but well, may be you can like it that way!
Lovely shot Sion! have a nice Sunday!
There is a charming feeling to this image even though it's a bit dark and not overly sharp. I cropped it to put the bird a bit off center which left this image even softer but I like the composition a bit better. I also used an adjustment layer and "Shadows and Highlights" to put a bit of brightness on the bird so it would show up more as the focal point of the image. I added a border in a toning neutral color to not distract from the neutral tones in the image.
