|Intro:||I switched to digital photography in the fall of 2004 and I love the freedom of the instant visual picture. Because digital gives you all of your shooting data, I understand for the first time some of the mistakes I made in film and why I made them. It was hard in film shooting, to write down your aperture, shutter speed, focal length, etc, since I shoot RAW I have the opportunity to control the outcome better. I am learning Photoshop darkroom control and love it. But my goal is to take a shot with very little darkroom time necessary.|
Late in July, I discovered the critique web sites and my learning curve went up 60 percent or more. Having someone with experience looking at my photos with that special eye for the perfect print is beyond anything I have ever been able to have before.
December 2005 update; For Christmas this year, I gave myself the new Nikon D-200. I hope to be able to get some really great photos with higher quality then I ever had before. We shall see.
