Thanks for your comments. As far as I know pumas are killed in America because their population is not that low. But in the present situation, with so few tigers left (mainly due to poaching), killing tigers will be preposterous. Also in many places, culturally the sentiments of common people in the subcontinents is against killing tigers. For example in the Sunderbans people and tigers live side by side, with a new may be fatal tiger attack every few months, sometimes even few times in a month. Still the local people worship their tiger God as Dakshin Rai, and usually don't think of killing them. India
