Hello Roel,
Thanks for your candid opinion on my picture. I respect your individual views and impressions.
However, also let me make it clear that sometimes I opt for AdobeRGB instead of the default sRGB of my Nikon just for experimentation. You must be aware that Adobe colours are more saturated than those of sRGB.
In this case, I had used the 'Vivid' option from my default Nikon sRGB colour scheme and this is how the result turned out to be. The saturation level was not touched at all during PP editing.
Hope that explains why this picture looks over-saturated.
Sorry for jarring your sensibilities, though :).
Here is the selective exif data for your analysis:

Metering Mode: Multi-Pattern
1/250 sec - F/10
Exposure Comp.: 0 EV
Sensitivity: ISO 320
Optimize Image: Vivid
White Balance: Auto
Flash Sync Mode: Rear Curtain
Auto Flash Mode: Built-in TTL
Color Mode: Mode III (sRGB)

Thanks a lot for your constructive feedback and best regards.
