Dear Radomir,
it's a pleasure each time you tune in to one of my pics, thank you again. This shot was pure luck, I had only this one before the fly---flew.
About literature, as you know better tan me, Diptera is a mess. I used here J.&H. Haupt, 1998. Fliegen und Mücken. Naturbuch Verlag, Augsburg D. Excellent photos but it's very incomplete. The other one is F. Sauer, 2001. Fliegen und Mücken nach Farbfotos erkannt. Fauna Verlag, Karlsfield D. It's also incomplete, the photos not so good but the text is better. In real emergencies (not here) I go back to age-old P. Brohmer, 1953. Fauna von DeutschlandQuelle& Meyer Verlag, Heidelberg D. For Syrphids and Conopids it's no problem: K. Kormann, 2002. Schwebfliegen und Blasenkopffliegen Mitteleuropas. Fauna Verlag, Karlsfield D. For the difficult groups of Diptera you really would need the old, many-volumes- Linder, Palaearctic Diptera, which I can't afford.
I must confess that I devote much less time to photography and TN- watching these days. I'm sorry for this, but a big trip and work is coming up. I try not to forget and send you the pics you wanted.
With my best regards to you, lieber Radomir
Dietrich

Hello Dietrich!
Many thanks for details about keys do ID of flies. Of course I know that there are many species (in Poland about at least 7000) and many of them can be determined only by specialis. On the other hand I would like to recomend you a really new book with key to families of Diptera (The European Families of the Diptera: Identification, diagnosis, biology, by Pjotr Oosterbroek). You will not identify flies to speciel level but the key to families is really good :>

According to your trip I just want to wish you a lot of nice adventures and a lot of fun! :)
And do not forget about your camera! :)
Greetings from Lodz,
Radomir
