|To ramthakur: thanks a lot ||pankajbajpai
|You really observe the posts with minute details,This shot was taken in 2005 when I was trying to learn with my new Fuzi camera and a few days back I was checking the archive and saw this shot and posted it. I will be posting some lizards soon as I do not have much to shoot these days due to extreme summer here. Its almost 42 - 45 degree. Hope to catch some good shots in next month when the monsoon arrives.
I have a query, you are using a sigma 70-300 apo dg macro lens. I am planning to buy a telephoto lens in near future. kindly advice if I can go ahead with sigma apo & how good is this lens?
best wishes & regards

|Ha, ha, ha, Pankaj! You make me laugh.
I should be the last person in the world to be consulted with for technical advice on equipment.
You know what? I quietly printed out Howards's profile page from TN and kept it in front of me while choosing my 2 lenses at a camera shop in Riyadh this January.
Now I sometimes regret my choice; I ought to have gone for 70-400mm or 180mm or 24-70mm or...... and so on.
The dilemma of choosing lenses brings the worst of Hamlet in most of us!!!
On a serious note, one thing is for sure: Sigma lenses are cheaper and reliable in my opinion. For tele lenses, I would suggest a higher range, say, 400mm and above.
Anyway, go by your own gut feeling in the end.
All the best.

|thanks a lot for your reply. i got the hint and you are very correct its really difficult choosing a lens.
I will wait for some time and go for a better telephoto if not tempted to buy a 70-300 sigma lens,
