I've taken your advice George and looked up some reviews of the 3 lenses (Canon 100mm, Sigma 105mm and Tamron 90mm) and I think I am going to go with the Canon. On the image quality side there isn't much difference but people say the the Canon has faster focusing with its USM and its also internal focusing so the lens doesn't extend. I am going to head down to my local camera shop and have a look at the lenses first and see what they say but so far I think I'm leaning towards the Canon.
