Hi friends
I am planing to buy books on Birds.
I know Dr Salim is best for beginners or anyone. But still with so many books out now Im getting confused.
There is -the Book of Indian Birds by Dr Salim Ali...which doesnt have much good pictures I was wondering wont that be difficult to recognize the birds?
- (anothr book ) Common Birds of Indian Sub continent
Birds of India..Om FIeld guide...
If there is anything else you would want to suggest...I want to read general about the birds...I dont want super complicated bird analysis... to read and understand.
Please give me your opinion....
Thanks
Regards

Hi Sudeshna,
I'm using the Helm Field Guide: Birds of the Indian Subcontinent by R. Grimmett, C.Inskipp and T.Inskipp.
It's simple and effective in text with good and clear drawings, complete and a map for every bird.
I like it very much.
Kind regards,

Good investment, Sudeshna. I too have this edition and as Peter said, it's the best as of now.
