thank you for your visit, and your kind words on this capture taken one year ago.
Yes we do have such exotic looking large and colourful lizards living in the wild in the eastern parts of Austria - such as the valley of the Danube, and the edge of vinyards on the hills around Vienna. It is just the time now for the males to show their flashy blue throats, and there are quite many of them right now at certain places, but they are very quick and alert, and therefore hard to capture.
